Soft, Lightweight Wool

The secret is in the breed: Rambouillet sheep, a cousin to Merino and prevalent in America’s West, grows a very fine, thin, long, and durable fiber. We spin this superfine wool fiber to create a very fine yarn which allows for our soft, lightweight knitted wool comfortwear. A “worsted” yarn construction keeps fibers parallel to avoid the typical wool “scratchy” feel. Our unique Windspun™ process removes any excess fiber to avoid potential piling.

All Natural Dyes

Our commitment to work with nature drives us to find solutions in color from natural plant dyes. The rich colors of our wool comfortwear comes from the dried extracts of plants, like indigo, red madder, osage, and logwood. The process requires hands-on, artisan care and insures a truly unique piece of clothing. Its beautiful, colorfast, and easy on the environment.

New Second Skin

I barely wear tees unless I'm layering in very cold months, but I am very pleased to say that after this purchase (of more to come, I am sure) the quality and hand-feel of this super-fine wool has very pleasantly surprised me by making this top the most consistently worn item of clothing in the past weeks! Warm and soft, extremely versatile, I have worn it to bed, for warmth in the cold, under vests and bolero's as a comfortable shell, and by itself as a sexy structured casual piece. The blonde color is not too sheer to wear alone, and you probably WILL want it right next to your skin. I am looking forward to wearing it through the seasons and ordering it in more colors! Washes fantastically too, maintaining its shape and softness. Excellent quality.

Love this shirt!

I love the mission of Ramblers Way to produce sustainable, well-made, USA-made clothing and just received my order for this shirt in Indigo, size Medium. The fit is fantastic, the color is stunning, and the fabric is soft and comfortable against my skin. I am allergic to wool (but not cashmere), mostly due to the rough processing most manufacturers use, but can comfortably wear my new wool shirt without any itching or rash. I'll definitely be a repeat customer as there are more colors and styles for me to try!
