Helle Rambouillet  

Helle Rambouillet is a third generation family sheep ranch located in the town of Dillon, in beautiful Southwest Montana. 

The Helle Family run a range-sheep operation in which 6,000 head of sheep are grazed on over 75,000 acres of land through the course of the year. 

The Helles use humane handling systems to sort their sheep, and gentle “9-tooth” combs for shearing. They test their wool for fiber diameter, length, and weight and have developed and maintained a reputation wool clip.

Rambouillet sheep are very versatile, and in addition to producing fine wool, the Helles use sheep for resource management, and as an effective non-chemical means of weed control. Helle Rambouillet sheep have been added to flocks and farming programs across the country.

Producer’s Marketing Cooperative, Inc.

Producers Marketing Cooperative, Incorporated (PMCI) is a group of dedicated Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico sheep and goat producers, 300-members strong, with headquarters in Mertzon, Texas.

PMCI is a marketing cooperative for producers of any size or location that are actively engaged in the production of wool and mohair. PMCI markets roughly 1.5 million pounds of product annually.

PMCI is committed to helping growers produce the highest quality raw wool; prepared, packaged, and tested to international standards; and provide the user with such wool in a timely, reliable, quality assured manner. PMCI is the only marketing group in the United States to have and use an OFDA 2000 machine, a field instrument for measuring side samples from selected sheep to determine fiber diameter of individuals, and to make genetic selection based on the fineness of the wool.

PMCI owns the only FleeceScan system in the U.S., which employs Laserscan technology to separate fleeces into specific categories. In addition, PMCI has the only automated grab and coring sampling machine in the U.S., for unbiased sampling and coring for laboratory determination of yield and fiber diameter. PMCI personnel are U.S. certified coring and sampling agents under the guidelines of the International Wool Textile Organization (IWTO).             

PMCI member producers are stewards of the land and environment. These dedicated men and women have nurtured the sheep, and enhanced the land through proven, accepted and sustainable management techniques for generations to come.
